Not much to say or do...

Maybe you are wondering if I did anything special this weekend. Well, I decided that I will spend these days doing my usual errands, do some walking on Crocheron Park/Little Bay Park, and bike a couple of miles around Queens before heading home. Maybe I will write anything on one of my blogs or maybe not. I will let Machiavelli's Fortune rules my tonight destiny.

Why I Write Blogs

The other day I received an email asking me why I have 3 blogs and why I do not keep them, altogether, up-to-date. I must admit that I toyed around with my response before sending it in an impulsive way. My reply to this person were late at night and reads: "That is a good question, you gave me a topic to write about. Wait for my reply soon."

When I was in Puerto Rico, I had a Spanish blog where I used to write every day. A few months later I decided to shut it down, I felt that it did not reached the audience that I wanted to; even though I had a person who constantly appraised my writings. Another reason for not continuing my writings was based on the scrutiny made by police officers when I filed my application for a judgeship appointment in Puerto Rico; they were very judgmental  and biased about my opinions. It felt awkward at the beginning and suddenly I remembered La Mordaza written by Yvonne Acosta.

I realized that people, and it happens to me, do not follow a blog on a daily basis. I will use myself as an example. Of the 5 blogs I follow, I only read 2 on a daily basis, the rest I read it when the topic got my attention; if the topic is not amusing, I skip it until the next topic comes up on my email.

But going back to the question sent privately, I write blogs because I like writing. I love doing research on legal topics, love to read, I write a lot of notes in my books or in my small notebook of stuff I have seen, experienced or heard in the streets or in the podcasts I listen to everyday. Sometimes, I do not feel inspired and most of the time I am too tired of be sitting in front of a computer.

When I write on my blogs, it takes me around 3 hours to organize my thoughts, check my notes, do a lot of redact, let my writing rest for a while, and then return to it to see if I liked what I wrote. Most of the times, I do a lot of redaction of things that did not came out clear and then let it rest again to come back to it later on and see if I like it this time.

If you have a topic that you think it would interest me, please feel free to post a comment, you know where, and I will reply to it private or publicly. I promise that I will do my best to try to publish a post every week in one of the three blogs that I have. For the moment, this is my second post of the day. Check them out.
